Biography Kursk Dmitry Ivanovich

Kursk Dmitry Ivanovich (22.10.1874 – 20.12.1932), Soviet politician and activist. Tsp. Communist Party since 1904. Born to an engineer. In 1900 graduated from Law Faculty of Moscow University. In 1905 tsp. Butyrsky RSDLP District Committee, an active participant in the December armed uprising in Moscow.

In 1906 tsp. Reg. Bureau of the Moscow Bolshevik organization. He participated in the publication of a number of Bolshevik newspapers in pre-October period. Since 1907 tsp. Moscow region. Bureau RSDLP. In 1914 enlisted in the army, where he continued his revolutionary activities. From May to August 1917 the chairman of the Council of Soldiers' 4 th Army on the Rumanian front, the delegate of the 1 st All-Russian Congress of Soviets (June 1917). In October 1917 tsp. RMC in Odessa. In 1919-20 the Chief Commissioner of the field staff of the Red Army, member. RVS republic. In the 1918-28 People's Commissar of Justice of the RSFSR, the first Soviet Attorney General.

Since 1921 tsp. Presidium of the Central Executive Committee, since 1923 tsp. Bureau of the CEC of the USSR. Delegate 8, 10, 15 th Party Congresses. In 1924-27 before. Central Auditing Commission, 15 th Congress (1927) elected tsp. CCC, CPSU (b). In 1928-32 the Soviet Ambassador to Italy.
