Biography Grabin Basil Gavrilovic
Grabin Basil Gavrilovic (28/12/1899 (09/01/1900)) – Soviet designer artillery, Colonel-General of Technical Troops (1945), Hero of Socialist Labor (1940), Ph.D. (1941), Professor (1951). Member of the CPSU in 1921. Born in a working class family. His working life began at age 13. In 1923, he graduated from the Artillery School in Petrograd in 1930 Artillery Academy. From 1930 to the design work, from 1934 the chief designer of the plant, in 1942-46 Head of the Central Artillery Design Bureau, since 1946 director and chief designer of Research Inst. Since 1960 also busy teaching. Grabine developed and applied methods of designing high-speed artillery systems with concurrent design process, which allowed for a short time the mass production of new types of guns for the Soviet Army in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45. Member of the USSR Supreme Soviet 2 nd and 3 rd convocation . USSR State Prize (1941, 1943, 1946, 1950). He was awarded four Orders of Lenin, two Orders of Red Banner, Order of Suvorov 1 st and 2 nd degree, Order of Labor Red Banner, Order of Red Star and medals.
